Exclusive : Daniel Akpeyi Joins Nigeria U23s In Abuja; To Apply For USA Visa On Thursday

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Chippa United netminder Daniel Akpeyi has been included in Nigeria’s provisional roster for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro as one of the over-aged players.

Dream Team VI coach Samson Siasia has decided to bolster his goalkeeping department with an experienced glovesman ahead of the competition in Brazil following the lackluster performance of his first-choice keeper, Emmanuel Daniel, at the Suwon Invitational Tournament.

Akpeyi, 29, was sighted in the Under 23 camp today and will begin processing his visa to the United States alongside other invited players on Thursday.

The former Warri Wolves star is vacationing in Nigeria and has claimed that he only knew of his invitation to the Nigeria U23s on Tuesday.

During the training tour in America, the team is billed to play some friendly matches against other Olympic campaigners.
