Junior Ajayi To Travel To USA With Nigeria U23s; Showed Up In Abuja On Thursday
Published: June 17, 2016
CS Sfaxien striker Junior Ajayi will train with Nigeria’s Olympic National Team in the United States ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The ex-Shooting Stars ace has returned to the country following the end of the Tunisian Ligue 1 last weekend, and was sighted at the United States embassy in Abuja on Thursday morning applying for a visa along with his invited teammates.
While majority of the players remain in camp awaiting the outcome of their visa applications, Ajayi did not return to the hotel as he was given a short break before linking up with the squad, bearing in mind that he has been playing nonstop for club and country since September 2015.
The 20-year-old would have represented the Dream Team VI at the Suwon Invitational Tournament held in South Korea this month but CS Sfaxien did not release him.
The Juventus of the Arabs have permitted him to play at the Olympic Games.
