GK Amos Benjamin Reconsidered For Flying Eagles After Starring Against Real Madrid
Published: June 20, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Abuja Football College netminder Amos Benjamin has started training with the Nigeria U20s ahead of the third round of the 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
Flying Eagles manager Emmanuel Amuneke had to recall the teenager to the squad on the back of his imperious display against Real Madrid in the final of the Ramljak Tournament in Zagreb, Croatia.
On Monday, the former Barcelona winger ran the rule over Benjamin in a training game held at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja.
It is understood that the goalkeeper has already agreed terms with Italian Serie B club Spezia but will only join the team after the qualifiers with Sudan.
The 17-year-old Benjamin wore the number 16 jersey at the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup but was behind in the pecking order of goalkeepers.
