Published: July 09, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Roma teen sensation Sadiq
Umar will not join the Nigeria U23s at their training camp in Atlanta,
United States on Saturday, July 9.
This website earlier reported that the lanky attacker was considering his future with the team in the wake of the death of his father a day before the Samson Siasia-led side tackled Mexico in a friendly.
The update is that Umar is planning to rejoin the Dream Team but has not yet fixed a date for his trip to America.
The 19-year-old, who is presently in Kaduna, trained with the national team for just one day before he flew to Nigeria.
Hailed as the New Nwankwo Kanu in his homeland, Umar was acquired on a permanent basis by Roma this summer.
