Revealed : Sell-On Clause Inserted Into Kelechi Iheanacho Man City Contract
Published: August 02, 2016
The proprietor of Taye Academy, Kennedy Ezenwere, has claimed that the Owerri-based club negotiated a sell-on clause before Kelechi Iheanacho was sold to Manchester City.
The Citizens had acquired their number 72 back in January 2015, parting with 350,000 pounds to prise him from the Nigerian club, and seeing off competition from the likes of Juventus, Stoke City, PAOK, Hamburg and Porto in the process.
With Man City now valuing Iheanacho in the region of £20 million, Ezenwere has revealed that he will be given a percentage of his transfer fee if he is sold in future.
“There is a twenty percent sell-on clause in the contract Kelechi signed. Manchester City insisted that they wanted to buy him outright but I told the agent to include it, ” Kennedy Ezenwere told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“We are also due extra money for training him before he joined Man City. ”
Iheanacho, 19, penned a four-and-a-half year contract with Manchester City last year after he attained the age of majority.
