Super Eagles midfielder awaits green light from Tunisian Federation to complete move to US Vibonese

Through official channels, Italian fourth tier club US Vibonese Calcio have announced the transfer of Nigeria international Kingsley Michael, subject to international clearance.

The deal was confirmed during the October international break, but the midfielder is yet to make his debut for the Rossoblu as the necessary paperwork remains unresolved.

Michael has not yet received his International Transfer Certificate from the Tunisian Football Federation, which ruled him out of Vibonese's squad that defeated Gelbison on Sunday.

A 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner with the Golden Eaglets, Michael returns to Italian football after a brief stint in Tunisia's Ligue 1 with US Monastir, where he made seven substitute appearances during the second half of last season.

A product of the Bologna academy, the midfielder previously had loan spells with Perugia, Cremonese, Reggina and SV Ried, before joining Austrian club DSV Leoben on a permanent deal in January 2023.

Michael was an integral part of the Flying Eagles squad at the 2019 Fifa U20 World Cup in Poland and later featured for Nigeria's Olympic team before earning promotion to the Super Eagles.

The 26-year-old made his senior debut under Gernot Rohr in a 2-1 victory over Cape Verde in a World Cup qualifier in September 2021, playing the full 90 minutes.

After eight matches in Group I of the Serie D, US Vibonese sit second in the standings with 15 points.
