'Miraculously saved by the GK'- Atalanta coach highlights Lookman's unlucky miss and work rate
Published: October 20, 2025
Atalanta coach Ivan Juric lavished praise on Ademola Lookman following the team's draw against Lazio on Sunday.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, Juric highlighted Lookman’s impact, particularly in the second half.
"Lookman? Today we put in a very high level performance, in the second half he lit up completely," Juric said, as quoted by Fcinter1908.
He added that Lookman’s contributions extended beyond attacking play.
"I also liked how he covered the flank in the final minutes, performing impeccable defensive work,” Juric noted, acknowledging the player’s versatility and work rate.
Juric also reflected on moments of misfortune for Lookman during the match.
"He was unlucky with the header that was miraculously saved by the goalkeeper, but his performance remains at a very high level. He is improving, and I expect him to continue like this,” the Atalanta coach said.
Despite the missed scoring opportunity, the coach expressed confidence in the player’s development and consistency.
Ademola Lookman’s performance against Lazio, according to Juric, showcased his ability to make a difference at both ends of the pitch.
The Italian Serie A side will now turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League game against Slavia Prague on Wednesday, and the reigning African Footballer of the Year is expected to play a crucial role in the game.
