Nigerian Clubs To Pocket N247.5 Million If Nwakali Turns Out To Be A Super Eagles Star
Published: August 06, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that ASJ/Diamond Academy will be paid a maximum of 500,000 pounds (equivalent of N247.5 million) if new Arsenal signing Kelechi Nwakali turns out to be a Super Eagles star in the near future.
During negotiations, the Gunners hierarchy inserted a clause that the Nigerian clubs will get the additional payment once they secure a work permit for the central midfielder.
“A key element of achieving a UK work permit will be qualifying by appearing in 75 percent of the Senior National Team matches in one calendar year (criteria defined by the Home Office and the FA).
“When the player achieves this playing objective, Arsenal will pay the Academy £500,000. The maximum payable is £500,000,” Arsenal’s agreement with the clubs read.
Arsenal will pay £20,000 for every start Kelechi Nwakali makes in the Premier League or Champions League but the amount to be remitted won’t exceed £500,000.
The Emirates outfit announced the signing of the Nigeria youth international on Friday, August 5.
