The two alternate players left in the Dream Team VI roster in the shape of Stanley Dimgba and goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed may have to return to the country in the event that Nigeria qualify for the last four of the Olympic Games.
The extra officials- team’s media officer Timi Ebikagboro, the team coordinator, the kits manager, and the accompanying assistant director technical -will join these two players on the flight to Abuja, with the Sports Minister stating that he can only accommodate 18 players and 7 officials.
“With the recent bill payment of the team, the sports ministry seems to focus on only 18 registered players and 7 officials, ” a top source informed allnigeriasoccer.com.
“So maybe in the coming days some officials and the remaining two alternate players may return back to their base, despite two registered players being injured and subsequently ruled out of the entire competition. ”
Aside the injury sustained by Oghenekaro Etebo, Nigeria coach Siasia is sweating on the fitness of Junior Ajayi ahead of the quarterfinal tie with Denmark after the Al Ahly new signing picked up a training ground injury in Atlanta.
