With a statement published on their official website, Manchester City have announced that they have extended their association with Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a two- year contract extension that will see him remain at the Etihad outfit until the summer of 2021.
“Kelechi is a natural goal-scorer. I knew about him before, but I’ve been really impressed with him since I arrived, ” manager Pep Guardiola told City’s official website.
“I like his personality, his attitude, his ability – we hope to help him reach the highest level and to realise his full potential.”
Iheanacho scored 14 goals across all competitions for the first team of Man City in the 2015-2016 season.
His goal on the final day of the season against Swansea City helped the Citizens qualify for the Champions League play-offs.
