Inter Milan On Brink Of Deal For Nigerian Wonderkid Theophilus
Published: August 19, 2016
Inter Milan have seen off competition from a number of clubs in Italy in the race for the signature of Nigerian wonderkid Theophilus Awua.
Sky Sport Italia has reported that the 18-year-old will join the Nerazzurri on a season-long loan from Spezia, with a purchase option inserted into the contract.
The loan fee for the midfielder is 250,000 euros and if he convinces Inter Milan chiefs of his qualities at the end of the season, he will be acquired outright for a fee in the region of 2 million euros.
Described as a versatile midfielder, the Football College Abuja product impressed ex-Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh when the national team played a friendly with the academy back in 2015.
Spezia are hoping Theophilus will follow the same path taken by Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi , who spent last season on loan at Roma before they were signed on a permanent basis.
