Published: October 06, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that English Football League One club AFC Wimbledon have completed the signing of Nigerian goalkeeper Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu on undisclosed terms.
The 16-year-old shot-stopper had been in search of a new employer after ending his association with Charlton Athletic, and had tried his luck with Leicester City and Nottingham Forest among others.
Ogbebor-Onaiwu will fancy his chances of breaking into the first team of the Dons in the future if he impresses for their youth teams.
A product of Crystal Palace, the teenager trained with the Nigerian Under 17 National Team in July but was not part of the squad that lost to Niger Republic in the qualifiers as he had to return to the United Kingdom before the game took place.
All things being equal, the British-born netminder could make his debut for AFC Wimbledon U16s when they tackle Leyton Orient this Saturday.
