Nigeria Sweat On Fitness Of Isaac Success Ahead WCQ As Striker Suffers Injury Relapse
Published: October 21, 2016
Watford striker Isaac Success will undergo a late fitness test ahead of
Saturday’s Premier League clash against Swansea City at the Liberty
Stadium.
The Hornets number ten has not participated in full training all through this week after sustaining a muscle injury versus Middlesbrough on his full debut for the Vicarage Road outfit.
“After I substituted him, the physio was telling me during the game he was hurting,” coach Walter Mazzarri stated.
“After the 90 minutes, and back in the dressing room, I had a look at him and the physio confirmed he could not train because of a muscle problem.
“He hasn’t been training regularly (all season) because of his muscle problems.”
Because of this injury setback, it remains unclear if Super Eagles manager Rohr would include Success in his roster for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria, with the German expected to announce his squad in the next one week.
The former Granada star was poised to make his senior debut against Zambia earlier this month but had to pull out of the Nigeria squad due to injury.
