Rundown of how players of Nigerian descent fared on match day four in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Alex Iwobi entered into the fray in the 90th minute in Arsenal’s hard fought 3-2 win over Ludogorets Razgrad at Vasil Levski National Stadium. England U21 international Chuba Akpom missed out on selection.
The Gunners conceded two goals inside the opening fifteen minutes but repaired the damage before the interval thanks to goals from Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud, before Germany star Ozil netted the game-winner in the 88th minute.
In Group C, Efe Ambrose was not involved in Celtic’s 1-1 draw at Borussia Moenchengladbach because he has not been registered for the group stage of the competition.
At the Etihad Stadium, Kelechi Iheanacho was a non-playing substitute as Manchester City came from a goal down to complete an impressive 3-1 win over Barcelona. Tosin Adarabioyo featured for the U19s in the Youth League and was not considered for selection.
A Lionel Messi goal put Barca in front after 21 minutes. Ilkay Guendogan (2) and Kevin de Bruyne registered their names on the score sheet for City.
Over to the Philips stadion, Bayern Munich fought from a goal down to defeat PSV 2-1. David Alaba provided the assist for the second goal scored by Lewandowski.
