Algerians Blast Nigeria Football Federation Over Tweet Insulting National Animal, Desert Foxes
Published: November 10, 2016
Algerians have not taken kindly to a tweet by the Nigeria Football Federation published via their official account, in which they insulted the Desert Foxes, two days before both countries face off in a World Cup qualifier.
The authoritative website Le Buteur took an exception to the message broadcasted to millions of Nigerians, calling it provocative.
“A Super Eagle and a Desert Fox do not operate at the same level. While an Eagle soars in the air, a fox scavenges on the ground, ” the Nigeria Football Federation stated.
“Our darling Super Eagles will soar and dominate on Saturday in Uyo. Wear Green and White on matchday. ”
Les Fennecs (Desert Foxes) is the national animal of Algeria and mostly live in the Sahara desert.
