Kelechi Iheanacho Camp Reacts To Barcelona Link
Published: November 12, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho’s father, James Iheanacho, has played down speculations linking the Manchester City wonderkid with a possible move to Spanish champions Barcelona in the summer, insisting that he knows nothing about the interest from the Nou Camp.
It has been claimed that Barcelona are willing to splash out £16.8m to land the signature of the Nigeria international and Iheanacho Snr has stated that only City can decide the future of his son.
“I ready the stories in the newspapers (yesterday) but I’m not aware of the interest until I speak with him. Clubs can be looking for him, it is normal when he is doing well, ’’ James Iheanacho said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“For now Kelechi is a player of Manchester City and they have to approve the transfer if it is true.’’
In August, Iheanacho penned a two-year contract extension that will keep him at M11 3FF until the summer of 2021.
Manchester City valued the 20-year-old Nigerian in the region of £20 million before his deal was extended.
