Akpeyi Returns To South Africa Today; City Striker Iheanacho In Manchester; Etebo Having Quality Time With His Family
Published: November 14, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi will return to Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday evening after international duty with the Super Eagles.
The former Warri Wolves star was in between the pipes for the whole of Nigeria’s 3-1 over Algeria in Uyo this past weekend, and can now lay a claim to the Super Eagles number one jersey in subsequent matches after showing he has excellent control of the defense with his communication skills.
Another player who impressed in the win over the North Africans, CD Feirense attacking midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo, is in Warri with his family and expected to return to Portugal as from Wednesday, November 16.
Etebo has not spent quality time with his family since July as he returned to Portugal immediately after representing Nigeria at the Olympics, then suffered an injury which ruled him out of the Super Eagles games with Tanzania and Zambia.
Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho is already in the United Kingdom, ahead of his team’s clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
