Three Nigerian Players Eligible For 2016 Waiver Draft In Major League Soccer

Three players of Nigerian descent are eligible for the 2016 Waiver Draft on Thursday, December 15, Major League Soccer has announced via official sources.
The players include Houston Dynamo defender Sebastian Ibeagha, Real Salt Lake defender Boyd Okwuonu and Switzerland international Innocent Emeghara, who turned out for San Jose Earthquakes in the recently concluded season.
The Waiver Draft consist of players who have been waived by their clubs and are not eligible for Re-Entry or Free Agency, and are either out of contract and have not been issued a Genuine Offer or have not had their 2017 options exercised.
The aforementioned players saw their first team opportunities limited in 2016, with Emeghara and Okwuonu making only one start, while Ibeagha didn’t make any start and spent time on loan at Rio Grande Valley and Rayo OKC.
