Published: December 17, 2016
Portland Timbers striker Fanendo Adi has been ranked among the top fifty players in Major League Soccer in 2016 by the authoritative American soccer website Bleacher Report.
Adi, who was number sixteen in the list compiled, notched 16 goals from 33 appearances in the just concluded season, including six in his last eleven games.
The editors of Bleacher Report wrote about the former AS Trencin star : “Adi entered the year as a master of the multiple-goal showing, as he had nine combined braces in 2014 and 2015.
“But the 26-year-old bucked that trend this season, as he only had a pair of two-goal performances, both of which came before May. ”
Some famous names including Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy), Frank Lampard (New York City FC), Kaka (Orlando City), Giovani dos Santos (LA Galaxy), David Villa (New York City FC) and Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC) made the list.
