Man City Prevent Iheanacho From Traveling To Abuja For CAF Awards

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho will be absent from the CAF Awards ceremony taking place in Abuja on Thursday, his father has specially informed allnigeriasoccer.com.
The Taye Academy product has been nominated for the Most Promising Talent award alongside fellow Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo, Elia Meschak (DR Congo & TP Mazembe), Naby Keita (Guinea & RB Leipzig) and Ramadan Sobhi (Egypt & Stoke City).
City are due to face West Ham in one of the most intriguing matches in the FA Cup third round less than 24 hours after the ceremony in Abuja, which has prevented Iheanacho from departing the United Kingdom.
“Kelechi is not coming, Manchester City have a match on Friday. His manager is already in Nigeria and left for Abuja this evening. He will represent Kelechi, ” James Iheanacho told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Obafemi Martins, Taye Taiwo, Obi Mikel, Kelechi Iheanacho and Oghenekaro Etebo have won the Most Promising Talent award in the past.
