Premier League Man Of The Moment Dele Alli Destroys Chelsea With Brace For Spurs
Published: January 04, 2017
Chelsea’s phenomenal run in the English Premier League came to an end on Wednesday night following their 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
Two former England youth internationals of Nigerian descent in the shape of Victor Moses and Dele Alli started the game for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
But it was the attacking midfielder that stole the show with his third consecutive brace in the top-flight to take his tally for the season to nine goals.
Spurs dominated the first half and deservedly took the lead in the 45th minute thanks to Dele Alli, who scored with a header after a cross from the right by Christian Eriksen.
The former MK Dons starlet was given the freedom by Victor Moses and the Blues defense to nod home his second goal in the 54th minute after another fantastic ball in by Spurs creator-in-chief Eriksen.
In Antonio Conte’s last throw of the dice, Moses was withdrawn in the 85th minute before Alli joined him on the bench and he received a standing ovation from the Spurs fans after a man-of-the-match performance.
