Etuhu is in search of a new club after his contract with AIK was not renewed at the end of the 2016 season.
According to GT.se, sporting director of IFK Gothenburg, Mats Gren, has emphasized that the defensive midfielder is unlikely to be signed except something happens to the current midfielders in the squad.
Etuhu spent the whole of his career in England before his arrival at AIK in 2015.
