Nigerian Whizkid Dele-Bashiru Among The Stars In Man City Rout Of Southampton

Manchester City have advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Youth Cup following their 4-0 rout of Southampton at the Academy Stadium on Thursday night.
Promising midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru and Jonathan Afolabi started for City and Southampton respectively, while Saints striker Michael Obafemi replaced his teammate at half-time, but was himself substituted five minutes later after colliding with an opponent.
Goals from Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Lukas Nmecha and Demeaco Duhaney secured the win for the Citizens.
Dele-Bashiru bossed the midfield and was almost rewarded with a goal for his fine individual performance, but saw his effort hit the post in the 70th minute.
Central defenders Ashinme Kigbu and Nathaniel Ogbeta were not selected by Man City tonight.
