Ex-Arsenal Target Chukwueze Is In Nigeria, NOT Negotiating With Villarreal - Diamond Academy
Published: February 07, 2017
Reports that Nigeria U20 international Samuel Chukwueze and his entourage traveled to Spain to thrash out a deal with Villarreal are wide of the mark, the President of Diamond Academy, Martin Apugo has revealed.
Apugo was surprised at reports of Chukwueze’s imminent move to the Yellow Submarine for the simple reason that the talented winger is in Nigeria.
“I can confirm that Samuel Chukwueze is in Nigeria, I am not aware he is negotiating with Villarreal and has traveled to Spain, ” Diamond Academy chief Apugo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Diamond Academy pulled the plug on Chukwueze’s proposed switch to Arsenal after the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup because they could not agree on the financial terms of the deal.
As exclusively reported by this website two months ago, the ex-Golden Eaglets sensation is no longer joining Porto as transfer talks between the Umuahia based academy and the Portuguese set up have broken down.
