World Best Paid Player Tevez Tells Martins: We Played Very Badly
Published: February 10, 2017
Argentinian star Carlos Tevez was disappointed after Shanghai Shenhua crashed out of the AFC Champions League, losing 2-0 to Australian opponents Brisbane Roar on his competitive debut.
After the game, Tevez took a dig at his own teammates, including Obafemi Martins, stating that they did not play with enough intensity.
“I want to win, I also want to score, but we lost, we played very badly, ” said Tevez, according to Netease Sports.
Martins has been Shanghai Shenhua’s most outstanding player, and by a mile, since the start of pre-season, having notched a hat-trick against YSCC Yokohama, a brace against Sydney United and the winner vs Gwangju FC in warm-up matches.
The former Inter Milan and Newcastle United striker lasted the distance against Brisbane Roar on his maiden appearance in the AFC Champions League.
