Official : Crystal Palace Part Ways With Ex-Golden Eaglets Invitee Akiotu After Eight Years
Published: February 10, 2017
English Premier League side Crystal Palace have informed via their official webpage that they have parted company with highly-rated wing-back Jason Akiotu.
The Eagles stated that Akiotu’s contract with the club was mutually terminated, and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Aged 18, the defender tried his luck at Leicester City in 2016 but had to return to Crystal Palace before the start of this season as he did not agree terms with the Foxes.
Akiotu honed his skills at Crystal Palace U18s before he was promoted to the U23s, and is leaving Selhurst Park without making his competitive debut for the first team.
The no-nonsense defender was invited to train with the Nigeria U17s squad in December 2014.
