Nigerian Defender On Target As Tottenham Get Their Revenge Against Arsenal
Published: March 04, 2017
Young Nigerian defender Timothy Eyoma was on target as Tottenham Hotspur beat Arsenal 2-1 at Shenley Training Centre on Saturday afternoon in the U18 Premier League.
The England youth international, who captained the side, opened the scoring in the 7th minute, out-jumping his marker before heading the ball home.
It was the 17-year-old’s second goal for the U18s this season in competitive matches, having found the net in the 10-1 rout of Stevenage in the FA Youth Cup back in November.
Tottenham led 2-0 heading into the interval but the home team managed to pull a goal back in the second half through Dasilva.
Joseph Olowu started for the Gunners, Tobi Omole subbed in after 84 minutes and Joseph Olayinka was a non-playing substitute.
On Friday, Arsenal U23 team defeated their London rivals 2-0 in a Premier League 2 encounter.
