2025 Flying Eagles invitee continues scoring run for Chelsea youth in 4-goal thriller v Spurs
Published: October 18, 2025
2025 Flying Eagles invitee Chizaram Ezenwata continued his outstanding run of form by scoring for the sixth consecutive match in the U18 Premier League as Chelsea battled back from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
The in-form striker has been in scintillating form this season, finding the net in successive games against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Bromwich Albion and now Tottenham Hotspur.
Alongside Ezenwata, two other teenagers of Nigerian descent featured at Cobham Training Ground — Tayo Subuloye, who captained the Blues and Miracle Adewole, who started for the north London side.
Despite Chelsea's dominance in the opening period, Spurs drew first blood in the 35th minute through Armend Muslika's superb free-kick.
Chelsea nearly opened the scoring earlier in the half when Ezenwata's lofted effort was cleared off the line in the 8th minute.
The young forward eventually got his reward five minutes into the second half, converting from the penalty spot after a Spurs defender was penalised for handball.
However, two minutes later, Tyler Tingey restored Spurs' lead following a goalmouth scramble.
Adewole missed a golden opportunity to extend the visitors' advantage in the 68th minute, and Chelsea capitalised, drawing level in the 74th when Jashayde Greenwood slotted home the rebound after Ezenwata's header struck the post.
Tri national centre-forward Ezenwata was invited to a Flying Eagles training camp before the 2025 Fifa U20 World Cup, but club commitments prevented him from travelling to Abuja.
During the recent international break, he represented the Young Lions in a double-header against France U18s.
