Mikel Nets Tianjin Teda First Goal Of 2017; Ujah On Target & Picks Up Assist

Nigeria internationals John Obi Mikel and Anthony Ujah opened their accounts for the season and helped their clubs register wins on match day three in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
Tianjin Teda skipper Mikel was on target in the 48th minute of his team’s 2-0 win over Chongqing Lifan.
The Super Eagles skipper headed home from close range after a goalmouth scramble, it was the first goal scored by Tianjin Teda in a competitive fixture in 2017.
While Mikel lasted the distance, teammate Brown Ideye was replaced in the 65th minute on his second appearance of the new season.
Elsewhere, Anthony Ujah did not disappoint when he asked for the ball and scored from close range in the 69th minute as Liaoning Hongyun beat Jiangsu Suning FC 3-1 at Shenyang Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.
The former Werder Bremen star provided the assist for the third goal scored by Liaoning Hongyun.
