Kayode In The Form Of His Life But Austria Vienna Suffer Third Loss In Eight Days
Published: April 09, 2017
Kayode Olanrewaju was on target on Saturday in the Austrian Bundesliga but his tenth league goal could not save Austria Vienna from losing to St. Polten in front of their own fans.
The capital club are in crisis at the moment as that defeat against the relegation-threatened side was their third loss in a row in eight days.
Kayode quelled the nerves of the fans by finding the net in the 21st minute after receiving a pass from his captain, but an own goal from Larsen restored parity before the visitors grabbed the winner on 55 minutes.
Austria Vienna may be struggling but their Nigerian star is in the form of his life, with his strike versus St. Polten his 17th goal in all competitions, a personal best for goals since he departed the shores of the country.
The Super Eagle netted five goals in the Europa League, including the qualifiers, and two in the Cup.
