Overused Arsenal Loanee Nwakali Complains Of Fatigue, Misses Volendam Clash
Published: April 28, 2017
Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali was not involved in MVV Maastricht’s league tie with FC Volendam at the Kras Stadion on Friday night.
The Arsenal loanee has complained that he is suffering from fatigue and has been given some time off to recharge his batteries.
“It’s the first time he has played a full season. Remember that he is only eighteen years old, ” MVV coach Ron Elsen said.
“We expect him to train again in the course of next week. But we do not want to stress him too much for the playoffs.”
Nwakali has played 2,165 minutes of football in the Dutch Jupiler League since his arrival at MVV in September 2016.
The ASJ Academy product had started 24 of the last 25 games played by MVV prior to the tonight’s clash at FC Volendam.
