Alhassan, Olatunbosun, Ezenwa, Odey Being Considered For AFCON Qualifier Vs South Africa
Published: April 29, 2017
At least three players based in the domestic championship are expected to be named in the Super Eagles provisional roster for their African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
German tactician Gernot Rohr will begin running the rule over Alhassan Ibrahim ‘Muazam’ of Akwa United, Sikiru Olatunbosun from MFM FC and FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the next three weeks.
“Officials still want the identities of those from the NPFL who will be part of the Eagles squad to France, but ‘Muazam’, Olatunbosun and Ezenwa were in Abuja on Thursday to apply for their Shengen visas,” an official told scorenigeria.com.
MFM FC striker Stephen Odey was also considered for the get-together in France but he could not attend the visa interview in Abuja on Thursday because his passport is with the Danish embassy.
The top scorer in the Nigerian top-flight has been linked with a transfer to Scandinavia in the summer transfer market.
