Exclusive: South African-Based Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi To Miss Nigeria Friendly Vs Corsica
Published: April 30, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that South African-based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi will miss the Super Eagles friendly against Corsica on May 26 in Ajaccio.
The Chippa United netminder has not been included in the list of professionals instructed to report to camp for the fixture.
A day after the proposed friendly against the Islanders, Akpeyi is expected to be in goal for the Chilli Boys when they tackle Free State Stars in the ABSA Premiership, and this has effectively ruled him out.
Former Flying Eagles star Dele Alampasu and Wolves star Carl Ikeme have been called up to the training camp.
As previously reported by this website two weeks ago, Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses and Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi may be excused from the friendly as both London teams will face off in the FA Cup final on May 27.
