Ex-Eagles Star Disagrees With Kanu : Chelsea's Moses Has A Long Way To Go To Win AFOTYFormer Ajax Amsterdam winger Tijani Babangida has disagreed with his former captain Nwankwo Kanu, and does not think Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses is worthy enough to replace Riyad Mahrez as the African Footballer of the Year.

Nwankwo Kanu had earlier tipped the Blues number 15 to win the prestigious accolade ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane on the back of his consistent performances in the Premier League.

''That is a commendation for others to work as hard as him. Victor Moses is in  one of the top teams in England, they are going to win the league,'' said Babangida to Brila FM.

''And whenever you are in a top team you become a top player even though you are not top.

''Victor Moses is doing very well, for Nigeria I can tell you he is the best but for the whole of Africa, he has a long way to go.''

The last Nigerian player to win the African Footballer of the Year was Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.
