Spurs' Eyoma And Adam Idah Face Off As England, Ireland Clash In U17 Euro Quarterfinal
Published: May 10, 2017
Timothy Eyoma and England U17s have qualified for the quarterfinals of the ongoing UEFA U17 European Championship thanks to their 3-0 rout of Netherlands on Wednesday.
For the third straight game in Croatia, the Tottenham Hotspur defender started for the Young Lions and put in another solid shift.
England earlier beat Ukraine and Norway and topped Group D with the maximum nine points, setting up a meeting with Republic of Ireland in the last eight.
There is huge Nigerian interest in the game between England and Ireland, as Eyoma will face off with the prolific Republic of Ireland striker of Nigerian descent Adam Idah, who netted against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the group stage.
The winner of the quarterfinal tie will qualify for October's Fifa U17 World Cup in India.
