Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf says he has been impressed by the young players in the team ahead of Saturday's African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
Of the 24 players invited to prosecute the game against the South Africans, eight are U21 players : Dele Alampasu, Chidozie Awaziem , Wilfred Ndidi, Alhassan Ibrahim, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Henry Onyekuru and Victor Osimhen.
Yusuf revealed that he will shift focus to the African Nations Championship qualifier against either Togo or Benin Republic after the clash with Bafana Bafana.
''The CHAN Eagles program is on course, but South Africa is our immediate focus. We'll open the CHAN Eagles camp at the end of June or first week of July,'' Yusuf told Brila FM.
''South Africa are also a good team, so we must respect them.
''The young players in the Super Eagles have been doing well, they're good on the ball and have impressed.''
Ten young stars were handed their debuts by manager Gernot Rohr a week ago as the Super Eagles thrashed Togo 3-0 in an international friendly in Paris.
