Liverpool Star Hails Solanke For Winning Golden Ball Previously Won By Pogba, Messi, Maradona
Published: June 16, 2017
James Milner has praised Liverpool-bound Dominic Solanke for his outstanding performance in South Korea.
Solanke was in the England squad that recently won the Fifa U20 World Cup, and picked up the Golden Ball accolade, an award previously won by Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and Manchester United's Paul Pogba .
''I think he's already shown this summer with what he's done with the England team and winning the World Cup. It's a great achievement to come out of that as best player,'' Milner stated.
''You look at the other names over the years who have been named the best player in that tournament, so he's up there with some of the best.
''That's great for him and a great confidence booster. If Liverpool fans didn't know who he was then they do now."
Solanke was on the books of Chelsea for thirteen years and made his only first-team appearance against NK Maribor in the Champions League in 2014.
