Out-of-favour Nigeria national-teamer Shola Ameobi has ended speculation about his future after penning a fresh contract with EFL League Two club Notts County.
The former Newcastle United hero joined the Magpies in February and impressed for the remainder of the 2016-2017 season, scoring four goals from seventeen appearances.
In his first words after signing the new deal, Ameobi said to County official website: ''I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club so far and I'm excited for what next season holds in store.
"I've been taken aback by the support of the fans, who have welcomed me into their club with open arms, and I'm determined to help make the 2017-18 campaign an enjoyable and successful one for them."
The 35-year-old Ameobi previously played for Stoke City, Gaziantep BB, Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers and Fleetwood Town apart from the aforementioned clubs.
