Ex-Arsenal Talent Chuks Aneke Targeting Return To Action By September
Published: July 07, 2017
Former England U17 international Chuks Aneke is on the road to recovery and will travel with the MK Dons first team to Hungary for a training camp.
The ex-Arsenal youth-teamer has not played competitively for MK Dons since February 2017 due to a hamstring injury.
MK Dons Head of Sports Medicine Simon Crampton has provided a positive update on Aneke, but stressed that the attacking midfielder won't be rushed back.
Crampton told mkdons.com : ''We’d like him to be contention to make a return by the end of September and I think that’s still very realistic.
''He’s going to come out to Hungary and by then he’ll hopefully be predominantly completing outdoor running drills. He won’t be sprinting but he won’t be far off it.
''Once we’re happy with that, we’ll commence dynamic running drills and progress him accordingly."
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, Aneke had contributed to seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) for MK Dons in the League One.
