Ex-Chelsea Nigerian World Cup Winner Showing Off His Skills At Leicester City
Published: July 18, 2017
Former Premier League champs Leicester City have handed a trial to the skillful former Nigeria U17 international Habib Makanjuola.
The attacking midfielder featured for the Foxes U23 squad in their 3-1 loss to National League North side Leamington at the Phillips 66 Community Stadium on Friday, July 14.
In Makanjuola's bid to earn a contract, he did himself good by scoring the only goal for Leicester City in the first half after coming off the bench.
The 18-year-old parted company with Chelsea after he was not offered a scholarship deal, and tried his luck with Championship side Birmingham City.
Habib Makanjuola was part of the Golden Eaglets squad at the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, and played their first group match against Mexico.
