Update : Swedish Club End Interest In Liverpool Striker Taiwo Awoniyi
Published: July 18, 2017
Taiwo Awoniyi's hopes of joining Kalmar in the summer transfer window have suffered a blow as the Swedish Allsvenskan club are no longer interested in signing him.
Kalmar had explored the possibility of loaning the Nigeria U23 international for the remainder of the 2017 season, but their sporting director Thomas Andersson Borstam has revealed he will not be joining from Liverpool.
''No, he will not play in Kalmar. You may ask Liverpool where he will be loaned to, but it will not be Kalmar FF,'' Borstam told 24Kalmar.se.
Awoniyi is on the lookout for a new club before the summer transfer window closes for business because he is not eligible for a UK work permit.
The 19-year-old previously had loan stints at FSV Frankfurt and NEC.
