French-Born African Defender Becomes Chelsea Longest Contracted Player, Loaned To Stoke
Published: July 21, 2017
Chelsea have announced that French-born Central African Republic defender Kurt Zouma has extended his contract with the Premier League champions.
Zouma has penned a six-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until June 30, 2023, subject to the approval of Fifa.
The center back, who is now Chelsea's longest contracted player, has been farmed out on loan to Stoke City for the entirety of the 2017-18 season.
The 22-year-old has 71 appearances under his belt for Chelsea since he broke into the first team in 2014, and played nine games in the Premier League last season and it would have been more if not for injury.
