Liverpool Ahead Of Chelsea In The Race For N28.1B-Rated Southampton Defender
Published: August 01, 2017
Liverpool are nailed-on favourites to secure the signature of Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the situation of the Netherlands international but he prefers a move to the Anfield club, where he'll be coached by Jurgen Klopp.
The Saints are preparing for life without Virgil van Dijk in the new season, and have already identified Lazio centre back Wesley Hoedt as his replacement.
Last month, Liverpool were forced to make a public apology to Southampton over their illegal approach for their captain.
Virgil van Dijk, who joined Southampton from Celtic in 2015, is valued in the region of 60 million pounds (N28.1 billion).
