Chelsea Loanee Aina Doubtful For WCQ Vs Cameroon, Not Yet Cleared By Fifa
Published: August 01, 2017
Chelsea loanee Ola Aina is doubtful for two important World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in Uyo and Yaounde.
The right wing-back trained with the Super Eagles in London in March before committing his international future to Nigeria ahead of England, his country of birth.
According to a Nigeria Football Federation insider, there is no positive news from football's governing body, Fifa, as regards to Aina's one-time switch to Nigeria, and this is worrisome as manager Gernot Rohr is expected to announce his roster in the coming days.
''It remains status quo. Ola Aina has not been cleared by Fifa yet,'' a top source at the Nigerian Federation briefly told allnigeriasoccer.com when asked if his request has been processed by Fifa.
Born in London, Ola Aina turned out for England at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels, and has been called up to their U21 squad.
