Published: August 03, 2017
The promising Nigerian defender Emeka Obi is in line to make his official debut for Steven Gerrard's Liverpool U18s when they tackle Derby County at Moor Farm Training Centre (Derby, Derbyshire) next Friday, August 11.
The center back penned a scholarship deal with The Reds ahead of the new season, and has been automatically promoted to their U18 squad, after representing the U16s last term.
Born June 6, 2001, Obi agreed terms with Liverpool in October 2016, and the Anfield side reportedly paid a six-figure sum to his former club Bury FC.
He became the youngest player in history to represent the first team of the Shakers when he made his debut in their 4-1 victory over Morecambe in the Checkatrade Trophy on 30 August 2016.
Liverpool U18s will face Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United this month in the league.
