Arsenal Starlet Nwakali Processing Work Permit Ahead Of Transfer To VVV Venlo
Published: August 16, 2017
After weeks of negotiations, Dutch Eredivisie outfit VVV Venlo and Arsenal have reached an agreement for a season-long loan deal for Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali.
The attacking midfielder is back in his homeland as he awaits the decision of the Netherlands Embassy in Accra, Ghana regarding his application for a Dutch work permit.
''Kelechi is going to VVV Venlo on loan, we have concluded talks with them. There is no option to buy, Arsenal need him by next year July, hopefully he gets his UK permit,'' said Kelechi's elder brother and agent Allwell Nwakali to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''We are working to see how he will get his Netherlands work permit. He is in Nigeria now but will be traveling to Ghana to pick up the permit, maybe next week if it has been granted.''
Allwell Nwakali expects the Golden Ball winner of the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup to be invited to the Super Eagles this season.
He added : ''Kelechi is good enough to play for the Super Eagles, I expect him to be playing for the national team in the next one year''.
FC Utrecht and Basel (Switzerland) had explored the possibility of signing Kelechi Nwakali on loan before an agreement was reached with VVV.
