Tayo Edun Rewarded After Starring At U19 EURO, Earns England U20 Call Up
Published: August 24, 2017
Versatile Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun has been rewarded for his outstanding performance for the Young Lions at the 2017 European U19 Championship, after he was called up to the U20 squad for the first time in his career.
The 19-year-old is the only player of Nigerian descent included in the roster by manager Keith Downing.
The Young Lions face Netherlands at AFC Telford United on August 31, before wrapping up their friendly schedule against Switzerland four days later.
Edun's latest call up comes a month after he committed his future to Fulham until June 30, 2020.
He will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Fulham loanee Sheyi Ojo, Aston Villa loanee Josh Onomah, Liverpool's Dominic Solanke and Ovie Ejaria, and Chelsea's Fikayo Tomori who helped the Young Lions win the U20 World Cup this summer.
