The English Football Association have announced England's U21s squad for the upcoming UEFA U21 Championship qualifiers against the Netherlands and Latvia, with five players of Nigerian descent included.
The players of Nigerian parentage called up are Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham, Everton winger Ademola Lookman, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke and Tottenham Hotspur loanee Josh Onomah.
The five players are on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation, but the English FA have moved fast to secure their services after promoting them to the U21 squad.
Onomah, Abraham and Solanke have played for England at this level before, while Lookman and Tomori are in line to debut in the coming weeks.
England will face the Netherlands in Doetinchem on September before meeting Latvia four days later.
Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria and Fulham winger Sheyi Ojo, who were part of the victorious England U20 squad this summer in South Korea, have not been included in the first squad of the season.
