The day started with defending champions Chelsea beating Everton 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, courtesy of goals from Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata.
Victor Moses was in action for 89 minutes and was cautioned with 14 minutes left on the clock, Fikayo Tomori and Ademola Lookman were on the bench for Chelsea and Everton respectively.
West Brom, who were without the suspended Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu, were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City at The Hawthorns.

England star Dele Alli worked a full shift for the home team and broke the deadlock in the 49th minute, but Chris Woods rifled the ball home and equalized for the visitors in the second minute of stoppage time.
