Rohr Has Kind Words For Intelligent Mikel, Onazi, Ndidi & Confident Ezenwa
Published: September 01, 2017
Gernot Rohr had nothing but praise for the entire team in the wake of his side's 4-0 hammering of Cameroon in Friday's World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Few days before the encounter, Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was ruled out due to injury and the man that replaced him in the starting line-up, FC Ifeanyi Ubah's Ikechukwu Ezenwa, oozed confidence.
''You must recognize that they did very well, the goalkeeper did well,'' said Rohr at the post-match press conference attended by allnigeriasoccer.com.
''The defense did equally good, in the midfield there was a lot of intelligence. We lost some balls but the defenders were there to correct these problems.''
Today's victory against the African champions was Nigeria's biggest win since Rohr succeeded Oliseh as coach of the national team.
